Travis Scott Performs on Fortnite
Alterations in how we engage with entertainment have come rapidly since the novel coronavirus became an international pandemic. Musicians have been forced to terminate their concerts and world tours, with this extending towards Travis Scott. This hasn’t stopped Travis Scott from entertaining his millions of fans, with the musician announcing last week that he’d hold a concept through Fortnite’s Live Events.
It marks the 2nd Live Concert for Fortnite, which has previously held a virtual venue for the EDM Artist Marshmallow. Since the creation of Live Events, the developers behind Fortnite have continued to push towards more ambitious projects. The Travis Scott Concert is their most ambitious live event to date, with anyone following the rapper having a big challenge ahead of them.
The developers behind Fortnite are Epic Games, who’ve been developing the virtual stage for several days. Gamers competing in this internationally loved shooter could see a massive step being built in Sweaty Sands. After completion of the phase was updated to the Fortnite map, consumers could see Travis Scott logos on top of the massive black stage. It should be mentioned that this is the 1st time that Fortnite developers have crafted new map features in real-time, which is yet another ambitious aspect for these Live Events. It’s the perfect way to get gamers excited for what’s to come.
Bloodbath & The Concert
Epic Games allowed Fortnite players to compete in a specialized Pre-Show Game Mode for Travis Scott’s concert, with this mode enabling for respawns and removing the enclosing circle. Players fought across new areas centred around the upcoming show, with this specialized mode being called Bloodbath. Throughout the Pre-Show, gamers could see a planet-like object moving towards the game map. Once it was close enough for detailed resolutions to load, the object exploded, and Travis Scott rose from the ashes.
When the concert began, a series of different environments were unfolded to gamers. One atmosphere resembled the Disney Film Series Tron, with Travis Scott becoming a Cyborg in the process. Another environment saw the Fortnite map get submerged underwater, which then switched out towards space. The entire time Travis Scott was designed with a spacesuit.
