New Release Date for Last of Us II

The Sony Company has put their fans into a whirlwind of emotions with a highly anticipated title. This follows after studio heads with Naughty Dog confirmed that “The Last of Us: Part II” would be delayed indefinitely amidst the novel coronavirus. That unexpected announcement had come after Sony initially confirmed the February 29th release date would be postponed. Now players are being updated with a new release date, which is slated for June 19th.

That’d mean the indefinite delay claimed by Sony would become twenty days. Considering that TLOU2 is anticipated to be the years most noteworthy title, analysts expected Sony and Naughty Dog to examine the situation thoroughly before making these multiple announcements. It should be mentioned that the initial delays were prompted because of manufacturing concerns. Sony didn’t believe that Naughty Dog’s latest title could be ported over to the Disc Format and then shipped internationally from China because of COVID-19.

When the Chinese Communist Party revealed that manufacturing plants across China would be reopened, the Sony Company and Naughty Dog were unexpectedly able to re-evaluate the conditions. After prolonged delegations with ND Team leaders and Sony Executives, it was determined that June 19th would provide the required length to distribute 100+ thousand discs.

Sony’s Head of Worldwide Studios, Herman Hulst, provided insight onto this unexpected release date. He mentioned their excitement towards distributing The Last of Us: Part Two but June 19th. Herman also clarified his disappointment towards an unexpected leaker that revealed storyline details. Both Naughty Dog and Sony have pleaded with players not to read the leaks, to experience this game instead as desired. Considering that Naughty Dog would’ve spent the last 5+ years developing this title and its story, knowing a leaker revealed all that hard work came as disturbing news for employees.
The Sony Corporation has confirmed they located the leaker, with that individual having no prior relationship with Naughty Dog. PR Reps with Sony revealed they’ll be seeking legal justice in the form of a prison sentence and substantial change. That’s because a significant drop in evaluated profit margins could follow after this leaked storyline plot.
