Ex-Senior Editor of Game Informer Confirms Silent Hill Reboot

There are rumours circulating that Sony is in the midst of producing a new Silent Hill game. From all accounts, the rumours come from a credible source according to industry insiders. One of those insiders is Imran Khan, who will speaking on the Kinda Funny podcast stated that there more truth to the rumours than previous reports stating that Sony was only looking at developing a reboot of the popular game.

While addressing the subject and whether Hideo Kojima’s desire to create the new game, Khan stated that if Sony is making a Silent Hill, which has still yet to be confirmed, that he suspects that Sony is most likely not part of the project unless making their own version of a game similar to Silent Hill.

Kahn gives his opinion on Silent Hill Rumors

When Kahn was asked for his opinion on the rumours, he stated that from his perspective, the rumours have a certain degree of credibility. Kahn stated that he knows many who have worked on the Silent Hill game in the past that are “working on something.”

While Kahn stated he hasn’t been given any information confirming the rumours, he has heard enough talk about it and that he has heard that the game will be introduced at an upcoming industry event. It is either that he said, or that many people have been fooled into believing one is soon to be introduced to the public.

The rumours Kahn is referencing are the same ones that were circulating in March of this year. Those suggested the game was being developed for the PlayStation 5 as part of an attempt to reboot the series. Those behind the rumours are apparently reliable, even though for their part, Sony has not made an official announcement or commented on the rumours.

It is said that the game is being developed at Sony’s SIE Japan Studio and that the games original creator, Keiichiro Toyama, is on board with the project. Also during the podcast, it was suggested that Sony intends to use The Game Awards to make several announcements, although, there is nothing concrete on what those announcements may relate to or the product line they are intended.
